Gentile professore una domanda: perché nella frase n. 4 non è stato usato il present perfect continuous visto che si parla di un’azione ripetuta? (negli ultimi tre anni)?
Grazie

The present perfect continuous tense doesn’t work when the action is quantified in terms of number. Let me give you an easy example:
I have been writing letters all day. (continuous form – emphasis on the action of writing)
I have written 20 letters today. (simple form – emphasis on the number of completed actions)
All clear?

Good morning, I have a questions about phrase number 9.
It’s possible translate both verbs to passive?
“The forest are being destroied because the land must be exploited to produce palm oil.”
I think this traslate change the meaning … I have this doubt.
Thanks

It’s possible, yes, Floriana, but I think “must” changes the meaning somewhat.
You could say: “The forests are being destroyed because the land is wanted to produce palm oil.”

1) niente articoli perchè parliamo in modo generico di sostantivi al plurale
2) past simple (fatto storico) / “to” Europe (movimento)
3) “natural” = “naturale” (non va bene) – usiamo “nature” come aggettivo invece / “in” May / “next year” senza articolo)
4) OK
5) “were being released” (past continuous passive) – l’azione era già in corso
6) “These” cages / two times = “twice” / “twice a day” (si usa l’articolo)

Mia sorella ora vive in UK , a Corby, dove è stata assunta a tempo indeterminato ( é microbiologa e qui in Italia è un disastro) .
