Late Lament

Listening exercise

    Breathe deep and gathering gloom
Watch lights fade for every wind?
    Bedsitter people X X and X
    Another days X X is X
    Unpassion lovers wrestle as one?
Lonely man cries for love as known?
New mother picks X and suckles her son
Senior citizens wish they were known
    Cold-hearted… orb?!! loose the night
We move the color from our sight
Red is grey and yellow light
And we decide what is right
    And which is an illusion.

      Breathe deep the gathering gloom
Watch lights fade from every room
Bedsitter people look back and lament
Another day’s useless energy is spent
      Impassioned lovers wrestle as one;
Lonely man cries for love and has none
New mother picks up and suckles her son
Senior citizens wish they were young
Cold-hearted orb that rules the night
Removes the colours from our sight
Red is grey and yellow white
But we decide which is right
      And which is an illusion.

Adesso devi riascoltare per la 151 volta!

  2. Hey Prof I’ve listened to it three times but there are a couple of passages that are just muttering or whispering that’s impossible to get and so :
” Breathe deep the gathering gloom, watch lights fade from every whim. Bedsitter people look back in/and lament, another day’s useless ??(effort) is (spent ?). Impassioned lovers wrestle as one, lonely man cries for love and has none, new mother picks up and suckles her son, senior citizens whoosh/wish they/their …. (they knew/were something ????? )
Cold-hearted orb rules the night, it removes the colours from our sight, red is grey and yellow white, but we decide which is right and which is an illusion.”

    1. I have to say, Toni, that’s a pretty good effort on the whole. 🙂
      Here’s what’s missing:

      Breathe deep the gathering gloom
Watch lights fade from every ______
Bedsitter people look back and lament
      Another day’s useless ______ is spent;
      Impassioned lovers wrestle as one
Lonely man cries for love and has none
New mother picks up and suckles her son
      Senior citizens wish they were ______ ;
Cold-hearted orb ______ rules the night
Removes the colours from our sight
Red is grey and yellow white
But we decide which is right
      And which is an illusion.

      1. Based on the possible rhyme I thought ” Breathe deep the gathering gloom—>Watch lights fade from every ROOM ”
(but really his voice is decreasing while his playing and so is a pure guess) Then ” New mother picks up and suckles her son–>Senior citizens wish they were YOUNG ( here the same problem voice and rhythm decreasing). After “useless” I have to give up and after “orb” I really can hear nothing at all in between “orb and rules” only a simple pause. Mah. That’s the best I can do Prof.

          1. Well, you got ‘room’ and you got ‘young’ – well done!
Let’s wait and see if anyone else gets the words you’re still missing!

            1. Honestly it was only because of the rhyme Prof his voice is too muttering and decreasing there. 🙂

  3. It sounds a bit hard for me.
In any case, I’ve been trying since I got to my office this morning (10 minutes, not more) and I’ve filled up three rows… It’ll take time!
