La traduzione, come metodo di esercizio nell’apprendimento di una lingua, farà sicuramente parte della vecchia scuola, però, inserita in un contesto più vario di apprendimento, soprattutto con feedback in tempo reale, può sempre essere un utile esercizio di allenamento.

      My only comment, as I have said to others, would be to use the preposition “to” after “talk” rather than “with”. In effect, “with” is correct, but it is far less common after “talk” than “to”. The same goes for “speak”. 🙂

    1. You still haven’t found a way of expressing “non vorrei dovere”.
      Your new version is good from this point on: “…have to start to speak to Tom again.
      You need to find a beginning that has the idea of “volere” in the conditional.

    1. Hi Ester. Your version is actually pretty good except that I think you’ve made the mistake of thinking that “would” somehow means “volere”. In fact, “would” is only an auxiliary which marks the conditional and doesn’t have any meaning of its own. As a consequence, your version is missing the idea of “volere”.
      This part: “…have to start to speak to Tom again” is perfect.
      You need to think again about how to start the sentence.

    1. Giovanna, the part “have to start talking” is good, but the beginning and the end need rethinking. Remember you need to render the idea of “non vorrei” (conditional) and at the end it’s “con Tom” and not “di Tom”.
