Ecco una poesia che illustra, in modo giocoso,
le difficoltà in agguato quando si tratta
dei plurali irregolari in inglese.

Let’s start with box, the plural is boxes,
But the plural of ox is oxen, not oxes.
You can talk of one goose, but two are called geese,
Yet the plural of moose should never be meese.
You may find a mouse or a family of mice,
But the plural of house is houses, not hice.
If the plural of man has always been men,
Why shouldn’t the plural of pan be pen?
Though the plural of cow may be cows or kine,
A bow, if repeated, is never called bine
And the plural of vow is vows, never vine.
