For / Since ~ “da, sin da, da quando”

Concetto principale

Si usano for & since insieme al present perfect simple o al present perfect continuous quando l’azione è iniziata nel passato e continua nel presente e vogliamo mettere l’enfasi della frase sulla durata di questa azione.

for + la durata del periodo di tempo
for five minutes, for two hours, for three days, for four months, for ten years, for a long time
since + il ‘momento’ in cui ha avuto inizio il periodo di tempo
since 3.00 o’clock, since yesterday, since last April, since 1975, since the 15th century
since + un ‘azione’ che indica il ‘momento’ in cui ha avuto inizio il periodo di tempo
since I met her, since he arrived, since I lost my job, since we moved from Milan

Questa forma trova la sua equivalente in italiano con il presente indicativo e di conseguenza bisogna stare particolarmente attento traducendo tra una lingua e l’altra.
