One day last year, Paddy finally decided to sell his old car. He was talking about it in the pub one evening, when one of his mates suggested winding back the mileage a bit on the counter so that he would get a better price for it.

A few weeks later, when they bumped into each other again in the pub, Paddy’s mate asked him how much he had managed to get for the car.

Paddy told him that when he’d finished winding back the mileage, the counter only registered 7000 miles, so he’d decided not to sell the car after all, but to keep it for himself.
