A passenger in the back seat of a taxi tapped the taxi driver on the shoulder to ask him a question.
The driver screamed, lost control of the car, nearly hit a bus, drove up onto the pavement, and screeched to a stop just inches from a shop window.
For a second, there was silence in the taxi. Then the driver looked over his shoulder and said, “Look, mate, don’t ever do that again. You scared the living daylights out of me.”
The passenger apologised and said, “I didn’t realize that a little tap on the shoulder would scare you so much.”
The driver replied, “I’m sorry. It’s not really your fault. Today is my first day as a taxi driver. For the last 25 years I’ve been driving a funeral car.”

  1. It’s a hilarious situation! However, that story offers a wise suggestion. Leaving our usual comfort zone, we will explore dangerous territory that requires adaptation and caution.

      1. The tax driver changed his usual job (confort zone) and is scared by a simple gesture (tapping on the shoulder) which was absolutely impossible in the previous working situation ( driving a funeral car).

        1. Ah, okay. I hadn’t seen the connection between changing jobs and leaving your comfort zone.

  2. After listening I got the whole story perfectly, but I couldn’t catch the humour!

That’s why I had to read the text…

    1. It’s one of those stories where you have to stop and think for a moment in order to get the humour so maybe just listening isn’t enough, maybe the text is necessary.
