Buon divertimento!

Tom thinks he knows more than his colleagues put together, but he hasn’t done anything useful in years.I don’t know why they haven’t sacked him yet
Sorry for the delay
Have a nice week prof
Hi Fede. Very good.
You’re missing “all” in the first part. It’s obviously not a serious mistake although it is necessary in order to make sense of the “put together” at the end.
🙂
It is true
😀👍
Hi there,
” Tom believes he knows more than all his collegues put together, but he hasn’t done anything useful tò (? For) the firm for years.I can’ t understand why they haven’t fired him yet”.
Very good, Roby! The correct preposition after “useful” is “for”, not “to”.
🙂
Thanks 👍☕🍰
😀👍
Tom think he knows more than all his colleagues all together, but but he has done nothing usefull for
the company since years.
I can’t figure out why they have not yet fired.
A good effort, Luca, but there are a few imprecisions.
all together → put together (as in the Italian)
usefull → useful (una sola ‘l’ alla fine)
since years → for years (periodo di tempo, non ‘inizio’ di periodo di tempo)
not yet fired → not yet fired him (manca il complemento)
🙂
hi prof, thanks.
A typo for usefull and missing him of course.
Didn’t know about together.
Any of cotse as usual my confusion between sine and for
any of coats = and of corse. I’m using only my left hand after a surgery and can’t write very fine 🙁
Hi, Luca. Sorry, these messages escaped my attention last week!

Top marks for you today, Claudio! Have a great weekend! 🙂
Have a superb weekend you too, Tony!
😀👍
Tom pensa di saperne più di tutti i suoi colleghi messi insieme, ma sono anni che non fa nulla di utile per l’azienda. Non capisco perché non lo abbiano ancora licenziato.
Tom thinks he knows more than all of his colleagues put together, but he hasn’t been doing anything for the company for years. I can’t understand why we haven’t fired him yet.
Very good, Dany, but remember that it is very rare (and not the case here) to use the present perfect continuous in the negative form. Also, the subject in the last part should be “they”, but that’s a minor point.
P.S. You also forgot “useful”, like Paolo and Carla! 😉
Tom thinks he knows more than all of his colleagues put together, but he hasn’t done anything for the company for years. I can’t understand why they haven’t fired him yet.
Grazieeee😄
Oh my! I missed out “useful” .
I made the same mistake Pzeco had done but I didn’t copy him …No! Not all! 🤣😂
😂👍
Hi there
My attempt:
Tom thinks he knows more than all the other colleagues put together but he hasn’t done anything useful for the factory for ages. I have no idea why they haven’t him fired yet.
Thank you very much
Bye
Hi, a good attempt. Just a few little things to take note of:
all the other colleagues → all his colleagues (not a serious mistake)
factory (fabbrica) → company/firm (azienda) (vocabulary)
haven’t him fired → haven’t fired him (word order)
🙂
Tom thinks he knows more than all his other colleagues put together but he hasn’t done anything for our firm for years : I can’t understand why they haven’t fired him yet
You can join Paolo and Davide on the top podium today, Carla! Well done. 🙂
P.S. You also forgot “useful”, like Paolo!
Tom pensa di saperne più di tutti i suoi colleghi messi insieme, ma sono anni che non fa nulla di utile per l’azienda. Non capisco perché non lo abbiano ancora licenziato.
Tom thinks he knows more than all his coworkers put together, but he hasn’t done anything for the company for ages. I can’t understand why he hasn’t been fired yet.
Reading Davide, I saw I missed “useful” in the information highways…
Perhaps you were saving “useful” for lunchtime?
Anyway, the rest is all good! 🙂
Everything is useful for lunch, and if something remains, it’ll be useful for dinner!
Something remains? Is this actually possible?
Ciao!
Tom thinks he knows more than all his colleagues put together, but he hasn’t done anything useful for the firm for years.
I don’t understand why they haven’t sacked him yet.
Ooh! Top marks today, Davide! 🙂
It’s a miracle!!!😆😆
The proof that miracles happen! 😉
