I think the whole problem is the infinitive in the Italian which doesn’t work well in the English. It would read a bit more naturally if you were to connect with “so that” in the first part: “…so that I can finally…”

If you use “look forward” then you should use the present continuous: “I’m looking forward to the summer coming…”
I think it would read a bit more naturally if you were to connect with “so that” in the first part: “…so that I can finally…”
