Buon divertimento!

Hi prof
I’m trying to keep up😅
– We are getting the entire house repainted next week
Thank you
That’s perfect, Nadia. Well done. 🙂
We’ll make paint the whole house again next week
A good effort, Brian, but you need a specific construction here.
Read this article and try again:

The next week we’re going to get the whole house repainted
Very good, Gaetano, but without that article at the beginning!
A “programmed future” (present continuous) would perhaps be even more suitable here.
Faremo ridipingere l’intera casa la settimana prossima.
We are going to repaint the whole house the next week
Your version is grammatically correct but it gives the impression that YOU are going to do the painting and not someone else, so I’m not sure that it really gives the idea of “faremo ridipingere”.
Any other ideas?
what about my two ideas:
we are going to let the whole house be repaint next week
we’ll let the whole house be repaint next week
let repaint can be used?
The problem here is “let”, Luca.
Perhaps you are confusing “let” and “get” in this case?
Have a look here:
https://ingliando.net/2015/08/19/have-you-just-had-your-hair-cut/
Hi Teacher,
no I was not confusing; I supposed I could use let ; of course I mistake.
What about my try with get instead of let?
If you use “get” instead of “let” they are both possible (the going to version is probably more natural here), but you can’t say “be repaint”. “Repaint” needs to be a past participle with this construction: “repainted”.
Yes sure this is clear.
So
we are going to get the whole house be repainted next week
Yes, but without “be”! 😉
Faremo ridipingere l’intera casa la settimana prossima.
Hi prof,
We are having the whole house repainted next week.
Well done, Roby. That’s what I would say in this case. 🙂
Thanks prof.
I always must have my breakfast before translating😊… Or else I make mistakes!
😀👍
(must always have)
We are going to make repaint the whole our house next week
You’re missing the main construction here, Luigi. I’ll add a link for you.
N.B. “the whole our house” ➝ “our whole house” (or: “the whole of our house”)
https://ingliando.net/2015/08/19/have-you-just-had-your-hair-cut/
Faremo ridipingere l’intera casa la settimana prossima.
We’re going to have our whole house redecorated next week!
Spot on, Claudio. Well done. 🙂
Faremo ridipingere l’intera casa la settimana prossima.
We are getting our whole house painted again next week.
Very good version, Paolo. Well done. 🙂
Faremo ridipingere l’intera casa la settimana prossima.
Next week we will have our whole home painted again.
Next week we are going to have our whole home painted again.
Next week we are having our whole home painted again.
( I guess all of the translations are possible…or at least I hope so! )
All possible, but which is the best?
BTW – I would use “house” here and not “home” – we’re talking about the “building” and not the “focolare domestico”. 😉
It might be the best:
Next week we will have our whole house painted again.
And what about “get”?
Maybe it’s more apt to say “Next week we’ll get the painter to paint our whole house again”, is it not?
My feeling is that the whole thing has already been programmed, so I’d use the present continuous version. The choice between “have” and “get” is pretty subjective here.
So this is the best:
Next week we are having our whole house painted again.
..and then I could also use this other structure:
“Next week we are getting our whole house painted again.”
Yes, both are equally good.
You could also use the verb “repaint” to avoid “again”.
Faremo ridipingere l’intera casa la prossima settimana.
We’re having the entire house repainted next week.
Another good one from you, Dino. Well done! 🙂
We’re having the whole house repainted next week.
Wow! Well done, Rachele! That’s perfect. 🙂
We are going to re-paint the whole house next week
Your version is grammatically correct but it gives the impression that YOU are going to do the painting and not someone else, so I’m not sure that it really gives the idea of “faremo ridipingere”.
Any other ideas?
thanks tony ……. mi dimentico sempre di pensare come un inglese volere che qualcuno faccia qualcosa per te.
Faremo ridipingere l’intera casa la settimana prossima.
• GET + SOMETHING + DONE
• HAVE + SOMETHING + DONE
POSSO DIRE:
We’re going to have the whole house repainted next week.
That’s it! Well remembered! 🙂
