Buon divertimento!

Several days in late…
If only I could pull the lid off of the can.
I tried ion all the possible way but it seems to be stuck.
Non usare “off of” mai.
➝ If only I could get the lid off this jar
➝ I have tried every way possible/every possible way
🙂
I wish I could remove the lid of this jar. I tried in every possible ways but it looks as if it got stuck.
The only “serious” problem here, Claudio is that you didn’t use the present perfect in the second part. There is still a very strong connection with the present. Other smaller points are:
🙂
I got everything, Tony! Thanks!
A bad performance this time!
I wish I could take the lid off this jar. I tried everything I could, but it looks like it’s stuck.
Hi Dino.
There are a few things to sort out here:
🙂
I wish I could get the lid of this jare. I’ve tried eveything I can but it seems it’s stuck.
(Surely in this way….. will be more correct…. I am sure.)
🙂
Hi prof
If only I managed to take the lid off this jar. I have tried all the possible ways but apparently it is jammed.
Thank you very much
Hi there.
A few things improvements can be made here:
🙂
I wish i could take off the lid of this can. I’ve tried in all the possible way but is seems to be struck!
Nice effort, Nadia. Think about this:
I wish i could get the lid off this jar. I have tried in every possible way but it seems to be struck!
Thank you teacher !
😀👍

🙂

If only I could take the lid off this jar. I’ve tried any way I can but it seems to be stuck!
Very good, Paolo, but I would make two small alterations:
🙂
After reading the other translations, I’ll try again.
If only I could get the lid off this jar. I’ve tried in every possible way but it seems to be stuck!

Non mi ero accorto tu avessi già risposto, Tony, avevo lasciato la pagina “a riposo”…
Grazie come al solito!

I wish I was able to take off the lid of this jar. I tried any possible way but it seems to be stuck.
A good effort, Dani, but we need to make a couple of alterations to your version:
🙂
I wish I could get the lid off this jar. I have tried every possible way but it seems to be stuck.
Sorry, Dani, I forgot “in” (“in” every possible way). 🙂
I think I have to learn the sentences by heart.
I wish I could get the lid off this jar. I have tried in every possible way but it seems to be stuck.
Thank you very much.
There’s no point trying to learn things by heart, Dani. Just make a mental note and hope that you will remember the next time! 😉
Have a good weekend! 🙂
I Wish I could take the lid off this jar. I’ve tried in every way possible but it seems to be stuck/everything I could but it seems to be stuck
Very good, Giovanna.
“Take” is all right, but I think I would use “get” here as it gives more the idea of “riuscire” a togliere.
Both your versions are good in the second part. 🙂
I Wish I could get the lid off this jar.
tanks Tony
😀👍
N.B. “Thanks”
Hi Tony, this is my version:
I wish I could get the lid off this jar. I have been trying all sorts of possible ways, but it seems to be jammed.
Very good, Gaetano.
The only addition I would make to your version is, “in all sorts of possible ways”.
However, bear in mind, that if the person speaking has effectively given up trying, then he/she would probably use a present perfect simple rather than a present perfect continuous.
You could also use the expression, “In every possible way” or “in every way possible”.
Ok Tony. I have to confess to you that I was undecided whether use the phrasal take out instead get off or not. Then I decided on “get off” but I don’t know well why.
Accumulated instinct! 😉
N.B.
1. Instead of
2. …but I don’t really know why.
hi tony
I wish I could take this lid off the jar.
I tried all possible ways but it seems to be stuck
Hi Davide.
Your version is pretty good but there are a few things that need addressing:
🙂
I wish I could get the lid off this jar.
I’ve Tried in every possibile way but it seems to be stuck
😀👍
