Già, torniamo ancora una volta a quella piccola peste, l’onnipresente to get. L’idea questa volta, però, è semplicemente quella di dimostrare l’incredibile versatilità di questo verbo. Per farlo, ho chiesto a Chat GPT di crearmi un testo che sfruttase il più possibile il verbo to get e il risultato è qui sotto.
Chiaramente questo piccolo racconto è un esempio estremo e non andrebbe usato come esempio di un buon inglese, ma fa vedere, in modo inequivocabile, l’incredibile flessibilità di questo piccolo verbo quando viene abbinato a un sostantivo, un aggettivo, un participio passato, un participio presente, una o due preposizioni.
È un vero e proprio factotum!
I got up early today, hoping to get a head start on my tasks. First, I had to get my coffee brewing, as I can’t get anything done without it. After that, I got my laptop out to get some emails sent. Things were going smoothly until I got distracted by a message on my phone. I quickly got back to work, but then I realized I needed to get groceries for dinner. Later in the day, I got tired and decided to get some rest. Before going to bed, I got a quick workout done, and then got ready to call it a day. I got into bed, thinking about all the things I’d get done the following day.

Nel corso della giornata mi sono sentito stanco e ho deciso di riposare un po’. Prima di andare a letto, ho fatto un allenamento veloce e poi mi sono preparato a concludere la giornata. Mi sono messo a letto pensando a tutte le cose che avrei fatto l’indomani.

Getting any activity made by AI could be advantageous for sloppy people. However, it is a disaster from a human point of view. Creativity, personality, originality, and pride are mortified. Lack of mental exercise entails endangering human wit.
Like so much of new technology, it can be used in a positive way or in a negative way. It’s not the technology itself that is intrinsically bad.
