  1. in rome

    to arrive=static verb in english

    in rome, in Italy,in europe…but arrive at the meeting,at school,at the station…

    ciao!

      1. yeah

        I got to Rome

        I arrived in Rome

        and that’s why “sto arrivando” I’m coming…there’s a movement(by car,foot ,train ecc)…and not I’m arriving…static verb,no movement 😄

        1. True, but you can use ‘arrive’ in the continuous form in the right circumstances:

“We got to the station just as Bob’s train was arriving.” 🙂

          1. I didn’t know that Tony…I would have translated …was coming…

            1. You can also use ‘coming’ but in that particular circumstance, ‘arriving’ is perhaps even better.

        1. There were things to be done, places to go, people to see… Life is too short for stuffing mushrooms!
