      2. Well, it’s not always easy. In this case, for example, you could say ‘HOW many’ or ‘How MANY’ or ‘HOW MANY’, but afterwards it’s always ‘chairs’ and ‘ask’. In general you need to emphasize “content words” and words that are vital to understanding (in this case ‘how many’). Pronouns, articles, prepositions, affirmative auxiliaries are very rarely stressed.
