La traduzione, come metodo di esercizio nell’apprendimento di una lingua, farà sicuramente parte della vecchia scuola, però, inserita in un contesto più vario di apprendimento, soprattutto con feedback in tempo reale, può sempre essere un utile esercizio di allenamento.

The most typical expression here would be, ‘like that’, but ‘in that way’ would also be good.
In the second part you need the verb ‘do’ and not ‘make’.

Quando è una domanda, di solito è ‘any’ ma non quando si aspetta una risposta positiva o quando vuoi incoraggiare una risposta positiva o quando hai il sospetto che la risposta sarà positiva.
Comunque, l’inizio dovrebbe essere, “Why are you staring…” Present continuous.

Hi Gaetano. In the first part you should use the present continuous, the preposition ‘at’ (stare è come look) e non ‘thus’ (che ha un suono un po’ biblico). Prova con ‘like that’. In the second part you should use ‘something’ (qualcosa in particolare e non ‘anything’: qualsiasi cosa.)
