Are there any antique markets around here?
Spot on, Paolo. 🙂
Are there any antiquary markets around here?
Good, Nadia, but the correct term is “antique”. 🙂
Thanks
😀👍
Is there any antique market around here?
Good, Rachele, but if you use the singular form, then you should use “an” and not “any”. The original would seem, however, to be an attempt at a plural subject.
Grazie della correzione.
La frase interrogativa “C’è qualche mercatino di antiquariato nei dintorni?” va necessariamente trasformata, nella traduzione in inglese, in “Ci sono alcuni mercatini di antiquariato nei dintorni?”
No, not necessarily. There are two possibilities here:
1) Are there any antique markets in the area/around here?
2) Is there an antique market in the area/around here.
Both are correct.
My point was that the original sentence starts with “they” and then has “some” which gives the impression that the speaker is attempting the plural version rather than the singular one.
grazie mille

Very good, Giovanna, and so quick off the mark! 🙂
Tony I am home all day, unfortunately I do not work…. and I spend my time studying. When you write I’m at my desk studying so I’m quick,🤗
Ah! That explains it! Well, your studying is clearly bringing results, at least in Eglish! 🙂
I have been studying English for about a year. I know I still have a lot to learn and remember😭, but I like it.
Well, in a year I think you’ve done really well. The fact that you like it always helps, of course! 🙂
