Past Major can also be: former Major ( and la mia ex moglie can be Past wife? 🙂 )
“Past major” is all right (in the right kind of context) but I’m not so sure about “past wife”. Probably best to say ex wife in that case. I think “past” (in this kind of context) tends to be used with ‘titles’ and ‘ranks’.
Maybe “Past wife” was used in the past!
Most people with past wives are past caring! 😂
