L’espressione to spill the beans viene usata quando si lascia trapelare qualche informazione che avrebbe dovuto rimanere segreta. L’equivalente in italiano è quello di vuotare il sacco o spifferare.
Vediamo alcuni esempi tipici.

- Per un attimo ho pensato che avresti vuotato il sacco lì dietro.
- Be careful not to spill the beans about Bob’s promotion.
- Fate attenzione a non spifferare la promozione di Bob.
