  1. The story’s humour is based on its ambiguity. In reality, you have to pay for three pieces of professional advice, but not for getting information about the office’s rules, I hope, at least. However, in the guy’s shoes, I wouldn’t pay for those sorts of questions.

    1. Well, that’s the joke, isn’t it? That the lawyer makes you pay even for questions that have nothing to do with your case.
