Uso dell’articolo indeterminativo in inglese

a / an

Con l’eccezione, immagino, del principiante assoluto (esiste ancora?), tutti sanno che nella lingua inglese ci sono due articoli indeterminativi: a / an.

Probabilmente si sa anche che il primo di questi si usa davanti alle parole che iniziano con una consonante e il secondo davanti alle parole che iniziano con una vocale. Ma forse non tutti avranno intuito che il motivo per cui si aggiunge la ‘n‘ davanti alle parole che iniziano con una vocale sta esclusivamente nella fluidità del suono prodotto.
